Looking Ahead!

We look forward to the fall. Sometimes it is good to review the past to look forward to the future, especially as we move into a new era for Peace Lutheran Church.

For me personally, I have been associated with Peace Lutheran Church for over 40 Years. I remember all the Past Spiritual Leaders from Charles Schmitts to David Trexler. I was looking back at some of the old directories and remembering friends and many relationships. I have many memories of good times and struggles, time sitting in the breeze way enjoying one another’s company talking about Jesus and our Faith. I could go on. Looking back is good because we can see where we have been and the successes and the failures or challenges. Why you might ask? Because we can look toward the future and try and not make the same mistakes again.  

In June I spoke about Purpose, Vision, Mission, and Value.  Also in June, several ministries were looking for places where they could rent part of the facilities. I asked the Council what they wanted to do. It was unanimous; they wanted to build a church with young people for the future. The following Wednesday, I had a call about the Boy’s Trail Life looking for a church sponsor. God answered that Prayer in four days...FOUR DAYS!  In the last month, the Trail Troop 9613 have met with and have changed their meeting and sponsor church to Peace Lutheran Church. As of week August 20, 2026, it was their first Weekly meeting at Peace. WE took the tour and as they walked, (this was about fifty boys and adult leaders) they were asked to look at and see what projects they could do to help their new Troop home and to make it better. The Future of Peace Lutheran Church is unfolding.

This is what we should all do; look to the future and see what we as a faith community can do and be to make our Home Base Peace Lutheran Church and our community and see what we can do to make it better for the future. The Past is gone; it is only good for reflection or mistakes and not to make them again. We look forward to the future. There are many areas of reflection we should consider and many ways we need to envision what it could be. But remember, our Father in heaven holds the future, he knows where he wants us to go and what we should be to glorify Him.

We have a lot to do, and I am looking forward to leading you into the future of Peace Lutheran Church, and our community. Not just Peace Lutheran Church, not just Palm Bay, but all of Brevard County. You see, I must look back...not just remember what God has shown me in my personal and professional past, but to His call on my life and what He called me to.

In the Last Olive Branch, I said Summer was a time for preparation and a time to look forward to a bright future. Plans must be laid and strategies to be implemented. We now need to become a team of people planning, recruiting, and implementing for the future. We need to train up, build up, and grow into what God has called Peace Lutheran Church to be.

Beginning this month, we will have Sunday School, Men’s Fellowship, Women’s Fellowship, and also we have a new Prayer App for those who want to pray for your neighbors, a Fall Festival at Peace the week before Thanksgiving. We will also start this month hosting a Bible Study for the new Sunrise Christian Chamber, preparing for a County Wide Event at the Veteran Fall Festival on Merritt Island, sponsored by Space X, and so much more God is bringing our way.

So, Buckle Up and Get ready, God is on the move at Peace Lutheran Church. Do not be dismayed and remember He is not asking you to do it all because He will bring the leadership and the people to do His will.
