Our Beliefs

Peace Lutheran Church is a member of the association Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC). We are an authentic expression of the historic Christian faith in our confession and understanding of God and humanity, and in our purpose as a community.

We believe that:

GOD IS THE CREATOR and that what He created is good. He sustains his creation with His p-rovision and reaches out to personally relate with us.

JESUS IS GOD MADE FLESH who came to earth to proclaim God’s Word and to save all people.

THE SPIRIT OF JESUS LIVES WITH US He reveals God’s truth, develops our faith, and leads us in holiness.

HUMANITY is in need of salvation. Sin infects all of humanity. The closer you draw near to God the more you realize your own sin and your need of salvation.

SALVATION IS A FREE GIFT OF GOD who acts on his grace and love. We do not earn salvation. It is a free gift of unmerited love from God.

SALVATION COMPELS US to confess and repent of our sin though it is in our power to refuse salvation.

WE ARE A COMMUNITY CALLED by God to grow in faith and mature in life through devotion to Jesus and the study of his Word.

WE ARE TO PROCLAIM THE GOSPEL and freely share it with all people in God’s Spirit of love.

THE BIBLE IS GOD’S REVEALED WORD and it is the measure for faith and life.

THE CHURCH is a divinely led but human institution and so must always be in the process of reforming itself.

WE ARE COMMITTED TO LIVING ACCORDING TO THE GREAT COMMANDMENT AND FULLFILLING THE GREAT COMMISSION.

The Great Commandment is to love God above all else and to love our neighbor as ourselves. The Great Commission is our “cause” to invite and lead people into a living relationship with Jesus Christ.

The Lutheran expression of the Christian faith is a dynamic voice within the Christian community seeking to faithfully live and proclaim the Lord Jesus.
