Teens
Confirmation
Confirmation is a two year teaching ministry for 7-9 graders that meets most Sunday evenings at 5-6 p.m.
from September to May. Our teens learn God’s Word, become familiar with the Bible, learn our basic Christian
doctrines, memorize verses from scripture and journal what they learn. There is a teaching each week based
on the memory verse for that week and a discussion of the chapters from the Bible assigned the previous week.
At the end of their confirmation instruction, our teens have the opportunity to affirm their faith in front the congregation.
Peace of Mind Youth Ministry
Our teens 7th
to 12th grades also meet most Sunday evenings from 6-7:30 p.m. for
youth group. An exciting and challenging year is ahead of us.
Puppets of Peace: The teens are working on a P.O.P.’s Dinner
Theater as one of their first fund raisers in November. After that,
P.O.P. will go on the road to nursing homes and retirement centers.
P.O.P. is also a regular ministry in our Children’s Church.
Relay for Life: The teens are organizing a group to participate in the April 2011 “Relay for Life” event in Melbourne.
Fundraising: The fundraising team is headed up by Mark
Sienkiewicz and supported by our parents and teens. In addition to the
P.O.P. Dinner Theater, a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper is being planned
as well as things like the traditional car washes. If you’d like to
support our ministry with prayer, service or financial support, please
contact us.
Summer Youth Ministry
Wilderness Trails: We are heading back for the fourth year to
Wilderness Trails for our “45 miles of worship” along the Appalachian
Trail in Virginia. This trip has proven over and over again to be a
spiritual blessing upon everyone who has gone. We are planning to go on
Event 1 in 2011, June 14 -22. For more information about Wilderness
Trails, check out their website at www.wtrail.com/.
Mission Trip: A mission trip is also being planned for either spring break or next summer.
A group of folks want to serve those in need. A destination has not yet been picked.
If you’d like regular updates on our youth ministry, email Pastor Dan Gilbert
(A.K.A. PD Dizzle) at padredan@peacelutheranpb.org and ask to be included in the youth email group.
